Owner Jack Galloway started in the hearth industry back in 1993 working his way up in the family business.
Jack spent 13 years in the field working closely with builders and homeowners on-site. Over the years Jack has done thousands of hands-on installations and has personally seen every imaginable job scenario. Jack is no stranger to building design and the challenges a building can present when installing stoves, fireplaces or chimney systems. Jack has worked with every building material out there from straw bale to steel and knows how to properly adapt materials to work with the home’s design features. \
In 2006 a severe back injury almost ended Jack’s career. Spending over a year in physical therapy, Doctors recommended Jack find a new line of work. When a sales positioned opened and was offered, Jack accepted not knowing if he were cut out for sales.
As it turned out, all those years in the field had give Jack knowledge and expertise that is not often found in a sales showroom. As shoppers came in and word spread about the store’s excellent knowledge sales increased more than doubling the best year in the company’s 30 year history.
In 2009 the 30 year old family business was sold to an investor with no knowledge of the business. After a short time, Jack left and pursued his long-time dream of opening Jack’s Stove Shop in the small town of Black Mountain, NC. After a successful year in Black Mountain, Jack had the opportunity to move his home and business to the historic town of Rutherfordton, NC which offered strategic and economic advantages that Jack felt would improve logistics of covering a large territory and also provide assurance to clients that Jack’s Stove Shop was positioned to survive in a struggling economy.
