SAVE $1000!

I have 2 great wood stoves on clearance in the showroom.

I have the large Archgard Chaley 1800 wood stove with GOLD DOOR and pedestal which will heat 2,000 square feet. List is $2500. Also the medium Archgard Chalet 1600 with nickle door and legs which will heat 1500 square feet. Lists for $2300.

I have had about 20 demo fires in the large stove but you will be the new owner with full warranty. Dealer Demo model, NOT USED.

Take your pick for only $1500 each.

The Archgard is a great stove but I am dropping my dealership this year. Archgards are made in Canada and are heavy built stoves comparable to Regency, Lopi or Avalon. These are high efficiency non-catalytic stoves and make beautiful fires.

You’ll never find this deal anywhere so don’t wait around or you’ll miss it.

Email jack@stovemart.com if you need more information. Visit the Archgard web site for full specs. www.archgard.com

SPRING SALE!!!

Now that cold weather is gone and Spring is upon us it is easy to forget an important part of our winter checklist. ALL SERVICES WE OFFER ARE ON SALE NOW! Save with our Spring Service Sale.

The secret to home safety and years of trouble-free enjoyment is annual maintenance. Every year we begin the off-season with our Spring Sale and this year is better than ever!

Most important is taking care of your chimney and heating appliances. Whether you heat with wood, oil or gas, maintenance is vital to your comfort and safety as well as the life of your stove, fireplace or chimney.

In just a couple of hours we can come out and make sure you are ready to shut down for the spring and summer. You’ll also be ready to start up again this fall without the fuss of trying to make an appointment when we’re busy again.

One common point of neglect is vent-free gas logs, stoves & fireplaces. Most of these have been sold and installed as “maintenance-free” additions. That is a dangerous misconception that can end in catastrophe. Vent-free heating units depend on precision settings and a clean working environment. We’ve heard countless horror stories where a vent-free heater malfunctioned and virtually destroyed the interior of homes. In fact, just a single malfunction can be life threatening or soot up the entire interior of the home requiring a total cleanup and paint to repair the damage. This risk can easily be prevented with annual maintenance from a qualified technician.

A chimney fire is not only dangerous, the super high temperatures are extremely destructive to the chimney and possibly the home’s structural members. All chimney fires are caused by neglecting the cleaning needs of the chimney. Once a fire has occurred, the chimney is almost always destroyed. Although the chimney may remain standing, the interior liner is cracked and no longer doing its job to keep fire, smoke and toxic gases outside the home. The damage can be repaired, but the high cost can be avoided with just a little maintenance from a qualified professional.

Another point of neglect is masonry around the home. Masonry materials such as brick, block, rock, stucco, or concrete are strong materials but they do have an enemy. Water attacks masonry; wicking into the tiny cracks and imperfections to work with freeze and thawing to slowly deteriorate the masonry and reduce its strength. Eventually the masonry will begin to break apart and allow more water in which speeds up the process. We have a specialized solution which can be applied to all the masonry around your home once every 12 years. Our special sealers are not available at do-it-yourself stores. Those products typically last about a year and must be reapplied. Our industrial products carry a 12 year warranty and are very affordable. We can seal your chimneys, driveways, walkways, foundation, retaining walls, etc. Most sealing jobs can be done in one day and once done, leave a natural finish that is not glossy. Many consumer grade sealers have an oily base which is messy and causes the treated surface to shine. Not ours! Once we’re done your home will stay dry and look as natural as the material was meant to look.

BEAT RISING FUEL COSTS

The rising costs of fuel has everyone feeling the squeeze. The sad thing is that there is no reason for it all and fuel providers are enjoying the highest proffits in history. Exxon is raking in over $100,000,000 A DAY IN PROFFITS! and prices just keep rising. My question is, “how much is enough for these people”?

I see almost every day someone promoting a new “don’t buy gas day” and soliciting participation. The only problem with that is that if we plan not to buy gas on Friday, we’ll just buy more gas on Thursday or Saturday offsetting any effect it may have had.

The truth of the matter is, until we stop buying it, they will keep charging whatever they want for it. I’ve seen it before many times. The price gets so out of control that we simply are forced to change our habits. Once we start driving less, prices come down. It costs a lot of money to shut down those rigs and as long as we buy up the supply, they will keep pumping. When we stop buying, they have to lower the price to stimulate us to start driving more again. That’s how we can manipulate the market and keep the providers in check.

Here are just a few tips on how to consume less;

  1. Plan your errands and get more done in a single drive. Instead or running out every day for a little, sacrifice and afternoon to do all your shopping for the week. You will save a lot of gas by not taking the extra trips and you will also free up the rest of your week to take it easy and stay home with family.
  2. Clean out your car! hauling around a couple hundred pounds of junk just makes your engine work harder and reduces fuel economy. Put the things you don’t need away and save gas.
  3. Properly inflate your tires. You’d be surprized how much more fuel your car consumes pushing those soft, underinflated tired down the road. Your tires will also last longer which are made from petroleum products. Less tire wear reduces fuel used in making them in addition to adding to your overall engine economy.
  4. Here’s a trend that did well in the 70s. CAR-POOL. Start a car-pool at your office. Take turns driving every week. If 4 of you start a pool you will all use your cars 75% less and save a ton in fuel consumption.
  5. Drive the smaller car or motorcycle when you can. Today many households have more than one vehicle. If you have a choice, sacrifice that big luxury liner and drive the compact. You will use much less fuel. I ride my bike when I can and go from `15MPG to 60MPG for the same trip to work and back.
  6. Tune up your vehicles. A well maintained engine is a more efficient engine. Make sure your engine oil is fresh. Try one of the proven engine additives that reduce friction which can add a couple MPG to your overall economy. Change your air filter. A clean air filter lets your engine breath easier and provides better fuel-air mixture.
  7. Drive easy and slow down. I always tell my son that if he would drive smoother he would use less gas. Fast takeoffs and constant speed changes are very inefficient. Your fuel economy dramatically reduces once you get over 60 MPH and drops even faster past 70 MPH. If you can, plan a few more minutes into your commute and drive slower. You’ll be amazed at how much less fuel you will use driving 60 to work versus driving 75.
  8. ZONE HEAT AT HOME. When you fire up your big 150,000 BTU furnace at home you are heating your whole house even though your family is huddled in the living room to watch a movie. A 30,000 BTU heater can heat your living room with ease in just a few minutes consuming a tiny fraction of the fuel it takes to run the furnace. You can invest in space heating units for the rooms you spend the most time in and save huge on your fuel.
  9. Fossil fuels will never be truly affordable again in my opinion. You can invest in renewable energy heating appliances with more stable costs or even free if you have access. Wood stoves or pellet stoves are the future of alternative energy. These biomass heaters are highly efficient and heat large areas easily. Many homeowners have eliminated their dependance on fossil fuel completely! The federal Government has great incentives now to help you invest in this type of system for your home.

There are surely many more ways to save fuel but the idea is to consume less overall. Avoiding buying gas for a day really has no impact on the oil companies if we just buy it the day before or after and consume the same amount. Your thoughts are in the right direction but the method really has to end up with lowering demand. Demand will always set the price for things we need. Think about it.

DISPLAY MODEL SALE

Well friends, the season is winding down. I’m thinking it is about time to fire up the hog and start getting some spring air in my face. Who’s with me?

I’ve been at this long enough to know the warm weather comes and goes before we know it so I have to make sure and keep work on my mind so I am making plans for the showroom changes for next season and that means moving out some of these display models to make room for some new and exciting product to offer.

Now is the time to save while helping me remodel.

I have a few models I want to replace for next season. If you’re in the market for a good, large zero clearance gas fireplace, I have a nice Archgard I’d like to move. It is new and never been fired but it is on display so there is no box. Also, if you’re thinking of converting that inefficient pre-fab fireplace into a high-efficiency gas heater, I have a small Archgard direct-vent insert I’d like to move. It also is new and unfired but on display so there is no box.

I have 2 Archgard wood Chalet wood stoves as well. The large Chalet 1800 was burned on display for just a few fires. It has a nice 24K gold door, pedestal and ash box. I also have the medium sized Chalet 1600, never fired with ash box, legs, and satin nickle door.

I have a Large Dutchwest non-catalytic wood stove model 2479 as well as the Dutchwest plate steel insert model WR2000x02. Both are on display, new and out of the box.

I have a large Propane gas unvented stove that belongs to a customer as well. It’s a real steal at just $500. They go for over $2000 new and this came from a vacation rental and saw little use. It is 5 years old.

I have 2 new Vermont Castings vent-free propane gas stoves. I have the Stardance and The Radiance. Both are blacka nd never fired up. Now’s the time for a great deal on America’s finest stove.

I have sure enjoyed the big Vermont Castings Defiant wood stove keeping us toasty all winter here in the shop. It impressed me from the first day but when it was 9 degrees here for a solid week I saw that the stove was very adequate for our 2,000 square foot showroom even though it has 14 foot ceilings! We’ve been very comfortable and I know you’ll love this stove. Even though we have burned this stove all winter, you will be the original purchaser with full warranty. We will clean her up, put in new gaskets and repaint it prior to delivery or installation and you get 25% off since it is a burning display model.

If you’re interested in any model on the floor, just let me know and I will make you a great deal.

Supporting America

You know, as a much younger man I can remember those Wal-Mart Commercials with a seemingly endless field of American Workers superimposed with MADE IN THE USA and WAL-MART logos. Those commercials were likely dreamed up by the marketing team to make the giant look like they were adhering to the working American roots of Sam Walton. Perhaps they were legitimately trying to give American made products a push at consumers. Whatever their intentions were I cannot say with any certainty. What I can say with reasonable certainty is that you’d be hard pressed to find more than a handful of American made products there today. Why is that?

Let me risk making the whole world angry by making a point. It IS NOT the fault of  Wal-Mart that their shelves are fully stocked with cheap junk from overseas. THERE, I said it. So if it isn’t Wal-Mart’s fault, who’s then? It is MY fault and YOUR fault. Answer me this; How long would Wal-Mart leave these imports on their shelves if we simply refused to buy them and started asking for American made products?

I want to say also that I use Wal-Mart as my example simply because they are the largest retailer out there and they get the most bad press when it comes to retailing that harms American jobs and American families that depend on those jobs for their livelihood. The fact is, if the products we buy are imported, it makes NO DIFFERENCE where we bought them. Your local family owned hardware store selling imports takes the same jobs as Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Target or any other mass merchant.

If we’re going to turn this country around and take back our jobs and livelihoods it is going to be done by undoing what we have done as consumers. As consumers, we walk in and buy based on price without even a scarce thought as to where the product was made. We just have to change one thing and that is the sticker we look for when we buy. The price sticker is on top but the made in sticker is on the bottom. Flip that thing over and look where it was made. If it was not made in the USA, put it back. This will not be convenient at all. Most things we buy are imported so we will have to look hard to find American made products for a while. We may have to put off buying it for a few weeks but I guarantee you this; If we leave the products on the shelf, it wont take long before those items will be boxed back up and returned or offered at clearance never to be bought again. If American made products are selling, they will be reordered. Before long, demand will rise above supply and those vacant factories and mills will be powered back up and Americans put back to work to meet the growing demand for the almost extinct American made products.

So, what does all this mean in regards to your stove or fireplace? It means that you have choices there as well. I sell lots of stoves. I try to have a product for every room and budget. I also am proud to say that 90% of my sales are for USA made products. Canada makes up the other 2% so my store is 100% North American trade and I am very proud of that.

On the subject of price, my most affordable stoves are 100% made in the USA by Vermont Castings. Vermont Castings stoves are made in the USA from recycling iron to foundry operations, to final assembly and shipping. Our American workforce is so efficient that they offer their products at a retail price LESS than their imported competitors of comparable quality. When you choose Vermont Castings / Dutchwest / Monessen products you do much, much more than choose a great stove. You are choosing the American Worker. You are choosing to improve the quality of life for THOUSANDS of American Families. You are doing all this and it doesn’t cost you one cent extra! You do all this and you actually get to put a couple hundred dollars back in your own pocket after the sale. So my question to you is, “Where’s the tough choice?” As an American consumer, this SHOULD be a no-brainer for us. I invite you to come by or contact me directly if you have any concerns or questions about buying made in the USA. We’ve been trained to believe that made in the USA also means paying more. This is just not the case and I can show you. Just ask.
