FRENCH TOAST
Things You’ll Need:
· Blazing hot woodstove
· Frying pan (preferably square)
· Olive Oil or butter
· Eggs
· Bread
· Syrup
Step1
Make sure the wood stove is blazing hot. This is very important. If it is not hot, the food will take a long time to cook and may not turn out to your liking. It is best to cook on the wood stove when you first make a fire because that is when the top of the wood stove is at its hottest.
Step2
If you make 6-8 French toast, mix about 6-7 eggs with a little milk added. Dip a piece of bread into the mix and evenly coat. I usually let it soak up a little bit of the egg mixture for a good 30 seconds.
Step3
Pre-heat the frying pan on the wood stove. Once preheated add your oil or butter. Place the egg-coated bread in the frying pan. If you are using a square frying pan, you should be able to fit 4 pieces at a time.
Step4
Watch closely. It may only take 3- 5 minutes to cook one side. It may take longer depending on how hot your wood stove is.
Step5
Once both sides are a delicious golden brown, serve on a plate with a dash of powdered sugar and your favorite syrup. It’ll be well worth the time & effort, Enjoy!
