How many gal. of sweat will I sweat over a ten year span, using a 8lb godevil?

well NanMan, the clamping down on the nerves in my back get me worse than the sweat but that is a whole other story. I feel your pain swinging that maul. At least it is a good stress reliever. We can make that chunk of wood whatever we want it to be.

I guess I better get to your question before I get off on a tangent.

Studies have shown that the average human sweats between 27 and 47 ounces per hour when engaged in exercize. I figure splitting wood is pretty rigorous excercize but probably done when it is cool so let's figure somewhere in the middle at 37 ounces per hour. That's a gallon about every 3 1/2 hours. If you can split 1/2 cord of wood per hour you'd sweat about 147 ounces per cord of wood split. If you burn 4 cord of wood per season that would be 588 ounces of sweat per season. Figure that over 10 years and you'll dump just under 50 gallons of sweat over the years.

Of course that's a loose estimation. If you split more in the hot months you'll surely sweat a lot more.

Thinking about all that work made me tired. I think I'll take a break.
