So you want to install a wood stove or fireplace in your home but there is no chimney? Basically you have 2 options. You can hire a Mason to construct a masonry chimney or you can buy an engineered chimney and install it yourself.
You’re at StoveMart.com so let’s get one thing out of the way before you go any further. There are many chimney systems on the market and they are all rated to the same heat standard. The similarities end there.
In our 20 years doing hands-on installations and performing the warranty repairs to these systems we’ve learned which systems to stay away from. We pass that knowledge on to our customers because long-term safety and durability is something you learn through experience, not by reading the brochure or packaging.
At our store and in our service trucks, we use VENTIS brand exclusively. You can expect to pay a few more dollars per piece but we, and the manufacturer guarantee you will NEVER replace a single part of this system and it will keep your family and home (as well as any future owners) FOREVER.
VENTIS brand class A chimney is manufactured in the USA by American Workers who take great pride in their products. VENTIS does not offer a galvanized jacket on their chimney systems because what good is a stainless interior with a jacket that will eventually rust out? We install systems every day and we have come to appreciate all the safety and quality advancements that come with a VENTIS system. For this reason, we have abandoned all other brands. We think you should also. You’ll never regret installing VENTIS in your home. We guarantee it.
Although VENTIS is a professional product and not packaged in kits for homeowners, we have assembled a couple of standard kits to help you make sure you have all the components needed for an installation. Inferior brands often overlook vital components when assembling their kits but we know what you need through years of installations. Start with a kit, then add pipe lengths to make up your needed height. You can also add offsets, braces and flashings as needed.

THROUGH THE WALL INSTALLATION KIT
This package includes the basic components to install a chimney through your wall. PLEASE NOTE: Not all chimneys are basic. You may need to pass though your overhang which will require a cover plate and a roof flashing. Steeper roofs may require more chimney above the roof which will require a brace kit. Overhangs too small to pass through may require offsets to go around. Please consider these when buying your chimney.
INCLUDED IN KIT:
- Chimney cap with spark arrestor
- (2) wall standoffs
- Wall thimble
- Stove Pipe adapter (converts class a to single or double wall inside)
- Tee with cap
- Tee support

THROUGH THE CEILING INSTALLATION KIT
The most economical chimney to install is through the ceiling. You will use less chimney materials and the final installation will be the most visually appealing since you will not have a chimney attached to your outside walls. Your stove will also perform better eliminating horizontal runs and tight turns. Slight offsets with your connector pipe are less expensive than class A offsets as well.
INCLUDED IN KIT:
- Ceiling Support Box 24″
- Chimney Cap with Spark Arrestor
- Roof Flashing (choose “S” option for 7:12 pitch and up)
- Storm Collar
- Stove Pipe Adapter

CAP WOOD STYLE
This cap offers some protection from animals without the spark arrestor feature. Use this cap when using a pre-epa stove that may clog the standard cap with creosote.

If you’re burning a nasty old stove like a Fisher or a home built unit, this wide open cap is for you. Will not clog with creosote.

Made specifically for VENTIS class A chimney, the COBRA CAP has been solving wind related downdrafts for decades. If you know wind is a problem you might as well go for this cap.

Often on higher pitch roofs you need to brace your chimney for additional support to avoid damage. Fits all chimney sizes and adjusts from 5′-9′. Use whenever your chimney extends more than 5′ above the roof. Available in galvanized (G) or Stainless (S)

Anchor plates are used when you want to use a class A chimney on a fireplace instead of air-cooled pipe or to convert from a masonry chimney to a class A chimney. For instance, your masonry chimney is badly deteriorated above the roof but solid inside the house envelope. Rather than rebuild the expensive masonry chimney, convert to class A inside the attic with this anchor plate. See also our TRANSITION ANCHOR PLATE to convert a masonry chimney while relining the remaining masonry chimney.

Similar to our standard anchor plate above, the TRANSITION ANCHOR PLATE is designed to convert a masonry chimney liner repair/upgrade to class A.

VENTIS offsets are available in 15 degree or 30 degree angles. The amount of offset is determined by how much pipe you place between the offset & return.
Included in each kit are 2 elbows and 1 elbow strap. The elbow strap is to add support to the return.
